James is a graduate of Indiana University and president of Samuelson Insurance. Prior to entering into the insurance profession, James spent ten years in the military, including two tours overseas.

At Samuelson Insurance, James specializes in commercial insurance with a focus on contractors, government, and public entities. Furthering his professional career, James has successfully earned his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations. He is currently licensed in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan.

James has a passion for being involved in the community and has served on nearly a dozen local boards and commissions. He is a past President of the Portage Chamber of Commerce and in 2017 received the Outstanding Public Citizen Award.

The biggest joy in his life is spending time with his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Olivia. James and his family reside in Portage with their two dogs, Simon and Molly.
